     Public Safety Alert:  Crime Prevention Reminder

The Spring Lake Police Department is currently investigating an early morning residential break-in in the borough. Our officers are investigating this incident, increasing neighborhood patrols, and following up on all available leads.

Please consider the following proactive safety measures to help secure your home and property:

• Lock All Doors and Windows: Check that all first-floor windows, pet doors, and exterior doors are locked before going to bed or leaving your home, even for a short period.

• Utilize Alarm Systems: If your home has a security system, activate it every night.

• Secure Vehicles and Garages: Lock cars and never leave key fobs in a vehicle.  Park vehicles in the garage or driveway.

• Utilize Exterior Lighting: Keep porch, driveway, and backyard lights on overnight to deter unwanted activity.

Community awareness is one of our best tools for preventing crime. We are asking ask all residents to report any suspicious individuals, unusual vehicles, or unexpected noises to our dispatch center at 732-449-1234.
