Borough Clerk Information

The Borough Clerk has responsibilities required by NJ State Statutes which include acting as the Secretary to the Governing Body, Custodian of Records, Administering Local Elections and Issuing Licenses and Permits. Residents may seek guidance form  the Office of the Clerk for various services.

Dog/Cat Licensing: All licensing can be done on Community Pass. Please log onto your Community Pass account and click on "Register/Purchase Now". If you do not have a Community Pass account please create one first.

Vital Statistics Information

Appointments should be made in applying for marriage, civil union, domestic partnership, remarriage and reaffirmation of a civil union.

There is a $28.00 fee for a marriage / civil union license application payment may be made by personal check, money order, or cash. An application for a marriage / civil union license must be physically submitted no later than 72 hours prior to the marriage / civil union event. You may however apply for a waiver of the 72 hours through the Monmouth County Superior Court.

What you should bring with you when you apply for a Marriage / Civil Union License:

A valid driver's license or state issued identification along with a certified birth certificate (with parents names preferred) and/or a valid passport.

If you are divorced or have had a marriage / civil union annulled, please bring the divorce decree or the civil annulment documents.

If your former spouse is deceased, please bring a certified copy of the death certificate.

Proof of residency.

A witness 18 years or older with valid I.D.

The $28.00 application fee can be paid by cash or check only.

Applications for Certified Copies of Marriage / Civil Union & Birth / Death Records

Please make sure when mailing a request form for a raised seal certified copy of a vital record to do the following:

  1. Fill in the form accurately and completely. Your documents will only be to mailed to the valid address on your current and unexpired I.D.
  2. Enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope - 2 stamps if 5 or more copies.
  3. Enclose copies of identification with your current address - i.e. drivers' license, passport, birth certificate. Acceptable Forms of Identification

Payment may be made by personal check, money order, or cash. Please note cash can only be accepted in person.

The charge for a certified raised seal copy is $25.00 per copy.
